				A K9 Matching Gift Program ran from February 15-March 15, 2008. Spring Valley Police Department raised $9,615 and NACOP matched $5,000 for a total grant of $14,615.
				Chief Michael L. Miroux asked our assistance in reestablishing a K-9 unit within the Spring Valley Police Department. He made the decision, with the support of Mayor James A. Narczewski and the members of the city council, to purchase a trained all purpose police dog. In order to reestablish the K-9 program, they needed donations for the purchase of the dog as well as the training equipment, and related expenses associated with the K-9 unit.
