| April 5, 2004 - Police Chief L.M. Whittington, Sr. requested help with his K-9 program in February, 2004, shortly after becoming chief of the Lorenzo Police Department located in Lorenzo, Texas. He found that this small department was in much need of funds, but few resources to meet existing needs, much less add a K-9 program. The National Association of Chiefs of Police and the Lorenzo Police Department ran a K-9 Matching Gift Project from March 1 - March 31, 2004. As a result of this effort $10,000 was donated to the Lorenzo Police Department K-9 program. | |||||||||||
