				A K-9 matching gift program ran from March 1-March 31, 2005. The department raised $8,175 and NACOP matched $5,000 for a total grant amount of $13,175.
				The Fort Myers Police Department is comprised of 206 sworn officers and 91 civilian employees. The department utilizes six specially trained police officers and their highly specialized K9 partners. The dogs assist with searching buildings, tracking criminals and drug detection. The dogs give officers one of the finest non-lethal aids in the prevention and detection of crime.
